There is a huge difference between someone filling out a form and someone who understands the form that is being filled out and how the potential implications the data in that form can affect your contracting future... The person handling your application should have many years of experience and who was mentored by other experienced application processors with a proven track record of success. So yesterday, when I was talking to a new client who handed over $900 to a licensing service to handle is grandfathering application and hasn’t heard back from them for over 4 months, something struck me odd. Grandfather Your Registered Electrical License!

Governor Scott recently signed House Bill 269, which passed during the 2013 legislative session, allowing registered electrical contractors licenses to be grandfathered to a state wide certified contractor’s license beginning July 1, 2013. All applications for grandfathering must be postmarked no later than November 1, 2015 to be considered for grandfathering.
