If you hired an application service that is not filling out your application the way you want, omitting pertinent information, fudging your experience, or (for electrical) using very canned and generic experience wording, then please seek out an attorney.
There are many new services out there with exam preparation schools that have little to no experience, yet tell you they are experts when, in fact, they are not experts. Not even I am an expert; we are not the State regulators, so we cannot say something like that. We just prepare a ton of applications and repair them, so we see quite a bit and do a lot of deficiency solving.
I am inundated right now with people who have hired two particular exam preparation schools to fill out their applications; the applications are full of errors and omissions. One person even received a notice that the ECLB was initiating a revocation of his electrical license because the license was issued in error and upon audit of his application, the application was far from meeting the statutory requirements. He was forced to hire an attorney to represent him to the Electrical Board and the school that erroneously filled out his application refused to correct the application and refused to refund the money he paid them.
If that happens to you, please do not contact us, but contact an attorney with experience with the DBPR. These applications follow you throughout your license career and can come back on you at a later date. YOU are attesting to the information in the application whether you filled it out yourself or hired someone to do it for you; if you go to the Board and try to blame it on them, the Board will likely not show mercy because YOU attested to the information in the application being true.
If you need an attorney referral, email us (do not call) and we will gladly send you contact information for one of our attorneys we network with.
