License Exam Services has helped over 400 State Registered Contractors upgrade those licenses to State-Certified Licenses since October 2012! This is not a scam, there are no strings, and this is for real!
If you took a Block, Experior, Prometric, NAI, or Thompson Prometric exam for your trade and your license has been in good standing for 5 years with no fines over $500 or revocations/suspensions of your license, you can become a State Certified Contractor without taking the State Exam. This applies to the major trades licenses (drywall and specialty structure are not included). You have to fingerprint, get credit reports, and pay the fees; that’s it.
Currently, it is unknown whether or not the DBPR/CILB will accept exam scores from GITS (Gainesville Independent Testing), however, Judy and I will be at the February Board meeting asking that question.
It just makes good sense to take advantage of Grandfathering! License Exam Services simplifies the process; all you have to do is go for your fingerprinting and pick up a verification letter from your sponsoring county.
