The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation will be observing additional days off for the holidays. Christmas week, the DBPR will be closed Monday, December 23, Tuesday, December 24, Wednesday, December 25th.
We will also be closed to public phone calls on Monday and Tuesday (23rd and 24th) as well; many applicants will check the status of their applications online; when they see the red “Deficient” tags in their application status, they will call any place that is open and ask what those “Deficient” tags mean. We typically receive several hundred phone calls from people who are NOT clients of ours but are worried that something is wrong with their application. These are non-income-generating calls for us and all we will be doing is telling folks to wait until Thursday to call the DBPR anyway.
For our clients, please shoot us an email or a text; we will be in the office Monday, but taking off Christmas Eve, just not answering calls from the general public asking why no one is picking up the phone at the DBPR and why their applications are marked deficient. We really cannot help them.
“Deficient” usually means that the examiner just hasn’t gotten that far in the application process yet, but it’s a scary sight for an applicant who see those bold red letters. If you see that, please do not panic, wait until the DBPR reopens on Thursday, December 26th and call them at 850-487-1395.
Happy Holidays!
